Imagine how good it’s going to feel
to walk through those doors where many have walked before
to see familiar, beloved faces, and sit near them once more
Imagine how good it’s going to feel
to be with this family, old, young and everything in between
to hear laughter and tears, to see the children tearing around
Imagine how good it’s going to feel
to join in song and hear other voices apart from your own
to sing songs of praise to our King
Imagine how good it’s going to feel
to share the peace – shake hands and hug absolutely everyone else
in the church building even if it’ll take all day
imagine how good it’s going to feel
to kneel at that rail, to take the bread, receive the cup
those tokens of salvation, food for our souls,
Imagine how good it’s going to feel
to join in shared lunches, with mountains of quiche
to grow in faith, to pray and share in our homes once more
It’s hard to believe what we’ve been through
We could never have imagined –
but keep holding on, because we’re being held by the King
he’s carried us through this, we’ve not been alone,
He’ll bring us through this and so much more
He’ll lead us each day until our journeys end.
Eternity beckons where all pain will be gone
When we get there imagine how good it’s going to feel.
